When your capacities physical, psychological, emotional to deal with the circumstances of your life are reduced, leading to a sense of being disempowered, it is time for action, to find out how to manage stress effectively.
Stress depresses and negatively has effects on our immunity mechanism, our energy levels, our mental condition and the standard of our life.
It is our body-minds way of alerting us that it is time to take a good look at helping ourselves instead of just expecting an expert to do it for us. What we need are efficient stress relief techniques to manage our stress and the better news is that there are many such techniques which we are able to try and see how much they benefit us.
As self-healing writer Louis Proto claims, « healing oneself » is an individual process.
So I suggest that you take the time to try experimenting with the various methods and tips for reducing stress that I say below, to discover what truly suits you and feels right and works for you. Accept it or not, the thing is to enjoy them rather than treat them as difficult work!
However, I need to say that firstly it is very important that we take a close look at the unvarnished reality of our lives and find out the reasons behind stress that we are suffering, and ask:
- Are we able to do something about it now?
- What practical action are we able to take now, or plan to take in the future?
- Do you feel everything is just too much?
If that is the case write down your issues and any possible action you can take to solve them or improve them.
Is there someone you can have faith in to talk over your difficulties with? Are you able to give yourself a total rest from everything that's not necessary for you to do? Even if this involves not satisfying otherss expectations of you and your own expectancy of yourself!
Then apropos self-help stress relief strategies and strategies, here are two things of first signification ( which are interlinked ) and we should handle first:
- Deep Respiring
- Relaxation
These 2 are useful because they're the foundation of most self-guidance stress relief techniques.
I suggest deep intestinal respiring as it awakes our critical energy, our vitality, permitting it to circulate throughout the body, gently dissolving emotional and physical blockages.
In fact, when we change our breathing we create psychological and emotional changes, hence the term psycho-physical describes exercises which involve respiring methods and movement (but also relaxation).
Exercise, of course, is a well known discomfort and stress reduction method, in varied forms, not only typical sports and hobbies, but also straightforward psycho-physical exercise reduces stress, eg Tai Chi, Yoga and other more novel methods, for example Shaking and breathing.
Relaxation though, is the master ingredient in the recipe of most stress-reducing programs and of most tips for reducing stress.
Stress is a condition of tension, stress of the muscles, nerves, mind and emotions and the truth is that it'll never be successfully assuaged or cured unless your system is allowed to regularly enter a condition of deep relaxation.
Insomniacs, of course, know this only too well! So do people who bother to have a regular massage.
Hopefully, these measures will go some way towards resolving your stress issues.
